  1. wow... you still around. you still contact with the guys? very nice monti you have there.
  2. just to add command here... to t-join or share return pump with chiller, it won't work. your current pump can't support the flow rate of your chiller (that also depend your chiller capacity). best way is to get another pump (base on your chiller spec) and make a 2nd return. this way, your chiller won't have to kick in endlessly if the flow rate to your chiller is too small. the head loss that the pump got to overcome through the joins, hight, chiller cooling coil and the turn over rate base on your water volume...etc. all these you have to factor in to sizing your pump.
  3. hey jeremy, wow! really like your scaping. very beautiful you restarted your tank. wow... time really flied. are you in NS already?
  4. wow... jack... finally got to see your tank. i want my own tank also i will have my own tank when i have my own house. i am sure factor that in. i will just keep fishes also. don't wanna touch corals. cos it will never end. poison after poison...
  5. solo... me no master. i am still a student. the concept is till the same. since the day i started reef in 2003 and till now, somehow i still see... the whole concept is still same. i have been visit here occasionally and the very 1st visit to this forum is your thread. thomas. don't say that... in fact when i look at your tank pic, i sense that your reefing skill has already surpass many of us. i am not expert. just collect and learn from each other experiences. i guess experiences really speak a lot. like bro solo, he has his experience in his 1st tank - the success and setback. now, when he restart or want to restart it, he will try to avoid those pit-fall. in fact, he gained much more and wiser now. because he has already know what he wants for his tank. rather then going through trial and error. with trial and error - a lot of time, money and life of the fishes and corals waste away. i really miss my reef when i see both of your tank fotos :cry2:

  15. if wanna start/upgrade, just do it and don't think too much. if afraid of the bill, then don't start anything
  16. i agree with you. it never stop and it is very additive. stop myself to stop buying corals since my tank is full but i still keep a look out for more corals to replace my current corals... never end and end up i spent more on my tank then for my family and baby.
  17. i tried... but it will never stop. i cut down the power usage... the rate keep increasing. so end up i still back to square one again. i remember when i use 1/2hp with 3x250W MH + 5 t5 light... and i total bill hardly cross $250 in 2005. now 2008, i don't even use MH and just use 4xt5 and 1/5hp, my bill close to $300. we can cut down our power usage but the electricity rate keep raising.
  18. with my sps bare bottom tank, i runs my 2x250W HM with only 6 hrs a day
  19. same as your... 3ft and it is around 300. after shut it down, it is around 160++
  20. as long as you run your pumps 24/7 and chiller, you electicity bill still up even without HM. tried that before... been trying to cut this and that and the bill still high. so, finally give it up.
  21. hahaha.. how i wish i can clear it all... a lot of buyer reserved then after a week, MIA. sms them and no reply. and a lot of them thought that this water pump can use for needle wheel skimmer (not one... i encountered 3-4 people. wonder how they get the information that all aquabee pump is needlewheel skimmer pump. guess a lot of them being miss inform in this forum?). if i am selling needwheel pump, i will sell it at least $200. if anyone can buy needlewheel pump with $80, pls let me know. i will buy it at 80 and sell it at 200
  22. after my decom for my 3ft tank... my electricity down about $150 (was running with fish only tank with chiller). now with another round of rate increase... got to find more way to cut the bill. it is never ending.... i cut, they increase... i cut somemore, they increase somemore... i cut more, and they increase more give-up...
  23. 1x aquabee 2000i pump still available. selling at $80 only. contact me @97668307 collect it either at jurong east/teban garden after 9pm. kovan after 9am. *** pls note... this aquabee pump is the water pump. you can use it as feed pump to your chiller, FR, skimmer etc. this is not the H&S or Deltec skimmer needlewheel pump. if you want to get aquabee needlewheel pump for your skimmer, you can get it from sealife for H&S skimmer or reef depot for deltec skimmer. the aquabee needlewheel pump usually cost $500++ (i may be outdated of market rate now).
