water parameters is very important. ensure sufficient trace elements...low phosphate n nitrates...adequate calcium and magnsium... lightings T5s is the max u shld go..another above that it is impossible...another thing is i am using a overflow system, i believe water flow will help in decreasing the water temp by abit. for me, i can maintain the colours but i cannot improve the colours without a chiller..

i tried before in my old tank, no problem at all. However, it is difficult to improve the colours of the coral.. i am using the fan and the temperature will still maintain at 29-31..

update at jireh: about 5 red and bi-colour pratas lots of medium and small blue tangs 1 powder brown tang about 4 clown surgeon... tts all i can remember...

it could be the LR was nt cured in the LFS b4 u bought it... another thing for the stirring of sand, yes, it does increase the nitrite and ammonia and some fishes cannot tolerate..

hmmz...dunno if im lucky or what, there is 1 time i bought a clown surgeon for a friend from irwana bali shipment. the shipment jus came in and i jus took it from the foam box w/o unpacking.. my friend released the fish and less den 20mins, it started pecking the LRs and feed on pellets the 3rd day... till now, it is still surviving.. anyway..this thread is outdated liao...pls move to this week's thread..

if the LS is hard to come by, the LFS will get it at a higher price too...definetely gotta still higher price when retail.... im sure the quality is up 2 standard and SL is reputable for high quality LS... cheaper PT like below $40 also have, when pasir ris shipment come, you can go buy also...
