I went home straight after getting the clown so dun tink fish stress during the x'port bk home As for pH, here's the sequence -> pH 7.6 -> add seachem marine buffer, put plastic bag (fish n water) in tank for temperature stabalise -> pH ~ 7.9 to 8 -> intro fish after about 1 hr Maybe i should like the pH stabalize first before intro fish. Now my pH is ~8. Think i'll wait till the level reach 8.2 before try adding LS. btw how to check if there is sufficient O2 in tank? mus i get the test kit for O2 as well. Thanx again for the advise

I intro the fish as follow: (1) Leave the un-open plastic bag (fish+water) in tank for ~30mins (to stabalize the Temp) (2) add tank water to plastic (wif fish) - add ~20% wrt plastic water vol (3) wait ~ 5mins -then intro fish Fish seem 2 b ok in LFS - swim around quite actively, no white spot. feel bad tt the fish died - 1 day survival only......

Any expert can advise me what went wrong..........can it be O2 low????? my clown fish seem to stay near water surface b4 they died....

Ok guess mi has the lowest grade Pes "E"....from "B" to "E" due to med reson.."Cushing snydrome" cheam rgt . Initially quite sad but guess now should b blessing but still need reservist leh (not very siong type lah). btw now (or actually few yr back) started Pes C1/C2.... grade as well rgt....confuse......

umm...tried the sugar and baking soda mtd for my 3ft tank. NO3 -> getting close to 0 ppm. Hardness -> from 7 to 9. after dosing the baking soda (little) (brand: "Bake King" Bicarbonate of soda from NTUC). smell some wired smell (hard to describe, some chemical smell)...now tank is still in cycling stage. The "smell" still exist after 1 day, izit normal???

Dear all Can someone kindly advice if ppm = mg/l.... think i've read some articles and confuse over it (some water parameters use ppm, while others use mg/l). I've checked the SGREEF "Calculation and conversion" link but dun hv ppm leh (4give mi if mi bobo n miss out the info) btw what is meq/l for??? thanx

salivateforme, mi also just realise our tap water is not that "neutral" after all. Bought new pH pen, test with buffer - read 7. Check tap water 8+. SHOCK , thought meter faulty (very sian today just buy leh). Guess cannot use tap water to gauge pH liao. unless willing to wait 4 H20 2 age....

Try dipping the LR in high salinity water (got LR from fellow reefer) but nothing found. On constant llookout during cycling and manage to detect a worm like creature (sorry lah new to the hobby, dun kno wat tt). Remove the LR and dip in tap water....hee hee more effective in geeting the worm out...wonder will my LR recover
