  1. with line subscription, about $650? w/o its about $950. prices differ from place to place.
  2. why? u got 1 you wanna sell? i'm interested if you do.
  3. i know the difference la thats why i also run Internet Security firewall. BUT!!! still got pop ups, thats why shake my faith in Norton
  4. currently using Norton Utilities 2003, plus Internet Security 2003... latest updates already... still have pop ups i dun have P2P programs anymore, and i scan and delete all adware. whats up? thuinking of switching since my subscription up
  5. i'm using this skimmer not... definitely worth the $$$$ the skimmate is thick and creamy... and it really smells bad
  6. flubs, wasn't this what you and my wife were talking about at the BBQ? thank you leh.... she never fails to remind me of that.... now i know who instigated her heh heh, now i also have to resort to baking cakes... i also have a cheescake recipe i saving for 'special request'
  7. just found out its for her birthday (happy Birthday to Mrs bwilly) good plan, bro i also want to get a few stuff.... bake cake ah? can borrow recipe?
  8. but its already being setup i know, must be the bribe, lets see 4x2x2=16 buaya, now choc chip? you gonna bake 16 cakes ah joking hor....dun chrome me
  9. eh, buaya... did you get caught doing something? or are you planning something
  10. heres the best pic i can take with the palm cam. anyone wanna adopt? placed the cup containing the nudis on the bracing under the MH... no aeration, super bright light....3 days and they're still alive ever wonder why the stuff we wanna keep.... expensive stuff like sps, clams, all easily RTN or die, surgeonfish....become 'white spot tang', but things you dun like... hair algae, flatwoms, crabs, mantis shrimps.... all dun seem to wanna die? so afetr days of eye straining, and pincer picking.. there seems to be no more nudis... will wait to see if any has survived
  11. nice setup bro, i hope you know that the camel shrimps are coral eaters though, you might wanna think about removing them. and angels aren't exactly reef friendly either, especially when they mature.
  12. then something must be wrong, cos if you remove the top cap, the water will rise to the level of the open top. a mini whirlpool will also occur there, with the gurgling toilet flushing sound
  13. i had that same scenario, play around with the size of the hole in the cap. i had 3 caps of diff sizes, finally i picked one with a big hole, sealed it with double sided tape, then poked a hole with a toothpick. then slowly adjust the size of the hole till the water reached a leveli wanted.
  14. they only seem to come out at night, thats when i spot them on the glass walls.
  15. kalkwasser is used for maintaining alkalinity and calcium levels in tanks where there is a lot of depletion, usually by clams and sps. even then, there is still a need to buff CA and KH. inverts like shrimps and crabs also need CA to moult properly, but its on a lesser level so unless need to, don't i'd check your KH and CA levels before adding kalk, or any additive for that matter.
  16. oh man... dun have montis, was waiting for a nice specimen but got some acros and stags... must have come in on the newer colony.
  17. looks like its just die-off on the rock, i'd advise taking it out and scrubbing away the dead stuff, as well as the *#$%&*()(*&^%$ HAIR ALAGE i see growing on he rock. trust me, they suck, remove out of the water. looks like the red algae is also dying, i,d prune away the dead ends and see if the rest are salvagable. if nutrient export is your concern, try other caulerpa better suited for it, like fern or grapes macroalgae improve circualtion in the sump, and your cycling should take a few more weeks. stagnant water will only cause dead spots, so the oxygen level there will be lower, not good for wanted growth, unwanted stuff like slime love it though
  18. now i know why some of my corals keep receding although i keep my parems good and nutrients level low! saw some of these nudis on the tank wall, then took a closer look, saw some on the corals... they look like mini hedgehogs, with liminous green 'spines' all i can do cos no dig cam did a search, think they might be a species of nudis from the family Zephyrinidae spent the better of last night picking them off with pincers (def not a good way to spent friday nights) found 7, hope thats all but...... what should i do? any natural predators?
  19. bro, 2 weeks is not enough time to know its thriving. you might want to place it higher nearer your T5. clams bigger than 3inches survive via their zooxanthelle, whichis basically the marine version of chlorophyll...means lots of light when you see new scutes, and the same colouration after a few months, then you'll know its thriving good luck
  20. Zebra Angel, Male Genicanthus melanospilos
  21. usually i put a small piece in, usually the head. place at night, then take out first thing in the morning so as to prevent ammonia spike. then feed the buggers to my trigger
  22. goody goody & sissy drivers should take notes.... http://www.flashtoons.org/movies/movie51.swf
  23. i have a crab problem too.. kalk wun kill them as they usually have an alternate escape route...crafty buggers some crabs will attack fishes, esp if you dun feed much. i tried the glass bottle method but i found that prawn meat was largely ignored, so i went to the LFS and asked for their freshly dead fish. i used the head of a naso tang, (guy was dead,k. no flames please) the next day, i found 2 LARGE buggers, a pistol shrimp plus my emerald crab ( they're NOT herbivores! ) i found that crabs tend to reach in first before they climb in, try weighing it down with a stone or something
  24. you forgot to factor in cost for keeping the water cool if you are running a chiller. IMO, its the chiller thats the killer, not the lights. that is assuming you are using a chiller. i was using 2 250W bulbs till i switched one side off... my elect bill only went down by $30
  25. is that a powerhead i see in the background? be careful you dun get a black cukemilkshake
