He promised to deliver the tank to me in 3 weeks time upon confirmation, and i give him 4 weeks to do. I only courteously drop him a "reminder" of my tank on the 5th and 6th week and this is the 7th week...which he promised to deliver today at 2-3pm. Now is 5.30 and i still have not seen the sign of him...

probably i'm in bad luck. He has quite a fair bit of good reviews over here, reputable for his good workmanship etc.. I would not really condemn this tank maker until i have seen his end product.

tick tock tick tock... tank has'nt arrived yet... tank maker just called, said the lorry driver MIA... no transport... sigh~ wasted my half day leave staying at home waiting for nothing.

tank maker called.. will be delayed for another 1-2 hours and he also called to inform that one part of the cabinet the measurement salah

Now rushing back to wait for the tank maker to come !! stay tuned guys !

Hi idle69 thanks for your offer.. but i guess nothing much to work on. But you are welcomed to visit me I will just let the tank filled with fresh water and treated with rowaphos / carbon and let it run for few days. Then add salt, sands and live rocks..

tomorrow will be my day !! tank will be coming in.. hopefully everything smooth smooth

after a long 6-weeks wait, the tank-maker finally confirmed with me that he will be coming this coming Tuesday ! Meanwhile, i have made the following purchases:- 1) Upgraded the skimmer to SC1455 2) Tunze 6055 with controller (for main tank) 3) Tunze 6015 (for reservoir/salt-mix tank circulation) 4) Tunze 3155 osmolator 5) Maxspect Razor 120W Most of the equipment are in place, standing by swee swee liao Will post more pics when the tank is here.. bro dirtnitro, 4-5k i guess is not enough... my 2ft cube tank (with 6ft cabinet) already comes to that figure.. An 1/3 artica chiller + a decent deltec skimmer (SC2060) + Lighting would probably cost you 4-5k already.. You may wish to check with some tank makers (Aquarium Artist, N30 etc..) as well as visit some local online stores (freshnmarine, onestopreef...etc) to work out the pricing for the equipment.. I reckon this would be a 5-figures setup

kraken, I do not have the facility to store/keep the RO/DI water...understand RO/DI water need to be stored in an fully enclosed environment to avoid any direct contact with air. I'm actually thinking to use tap water treated with rowa.

i'm thinking where can i get a large quantity of RO water for my new tank at a reasonable price ? I need bout 200litres.. if based on what NTUC is selling, i need to spend S$60 for water. that's expensive for water..

Bro Admiraltian, does your SC1455 overskim? I notice your water volume is probably less than 300L and the skimmer can support up to 1000L. I have gotten myself a SC1455 as well, for my upcoming 2ft cube.

For a 2ft tank and to start off with, the best is to have plenty of live rocks with a couple of clown fish and probably 1-2 gobies/blennies and/or other nano fish of not more than 3-5 pieces in total. This is if you dont intend to invest in a decent skimmer due to space constraints. With regular water changes and proper feeding regime, it shall do fine. You dont need sophisticated LED lightings. Just probably a blue and white T8/T5 tubes should suffice. You dont need a chiller which is not worth investing for a 2ft tank. Simple enough for you? Seahorse, pipefish are meant for experts.
