  1. Hey no fair... i tried Nori too... My MI didnt even bother to LOOK at it. Bah~
  2. Deep Blue> You've got a fabulous looking Sohal there!!
  3. Wow! What are you feeding your MI? But she looks a bit thin lehz~ Maybe more frequent feedings will help? My MI simply refused all gourmet foods except god knows what stuff on the rocks... died in 1.5 weeks... *sigh*
  4. Really, though it might not be because of Beach sand, I really dont think that its due to Cyanide poisoning. Cyanine death does not always happen immediately. It can be weeks or months before the fish dies. Then again, it will be good to change LFS if it continues. Clownfish> I dont think he used Beach Sand to save $. I was once also advised to get Beach Sand cos its 'live' and will aid cycling.
  5. Seven *gasp* *sputter* hundred? *faints* Can you imagine if you buy it and your 20 dollar Yellow Tang whacks it to death?
  6. Anyone interested in the Gem Tang, Zebrasoma Gemmatum? Hahaha~
  7. Live Sand from the Beach? I think thats where you went wrong. Never take sand from the beach, cause: 1. It contains lots of parasites and harmful organisms. 2. Contains lots of harmful substances and chemicals such as metals etc... Cant remember, maybe the other members know of other problems associated with beach sand. Suggest you remove the sand imme and do a complete water change...
  8. My Moorish Idol worse... Die on Sunday at the back glass (totally inaccessible) by Monday morning, only left a little bit of skeleton. Monday evening saw a 1.5 foot long Fireworm... eeks...
  9. Hi all... does anyone know what leads to the demise of the Clown Surgeon? As in they starve to death from not eating or they die due to nutritional deficiencies? Or any other reason? Cos I've never actually read of the cause of death anywhere b4... :thanx
  10. Does he eat? He looks kinda thin... Suggest you fish him out of your main tank anyway. No point risking infection to all the other fishes in your tank.
  11. Its alright lah~ The Flame Angel and Red Buttons I got from them were cheap and healthy. Actually a gorgeous Lemonpeel too, but the Lemonpeel went into mysterious health degeneration and died in less than a day. Take your time to choose... I took nearly 30 mins to choose my Flame Angel until kena scolded... hee
  12. Maybe the person is trying the 'I'm sure at least 1/100 of them will survive' tactic lor...
  13. Eek... does Ephedrine have anything to do with the drug Pseudoephedrine I take all the time for nasal congestion?
  14. Who who who!! This person must have a tank the size of my bedroom!! Which LFS is this? How come you guys know about it?? Maybe its a reseller??
  15. Tassled File Hardy, Disease resistent and i heard very aggresive...
  16. Actually, i read from some articles that the stress involved in FW dips does not come from physically being in FW, but really from the process of netting and transfer. The article I read states that Marine Fishes are able to tolerate sudden lowering of salinity with no ill effects, but the reverse is not true. Fishes will be unable to tolerate sudden increase in salinity to NSW levels. The mentioned that its probably because the fish has to suddenly expend a lot more energy to maintain its osmotic balance. Too many articles on the net... and they're all written by renown pple... it becomes hard for us aquarists to decide whose school of thought is more correct... haha~
  17. FW dip before introduction lahz~ Anyway his goby I think eating right? Once the fish is in the tank, cannot catch one... haha~
  18. Anyone seen any small long polyped toadstools... (sarcophyton)? Been looking for one for a very long time liao...
  19. Looks like the shorter form of the Blushing Coral, Cladiella sp.
  20. Hi, I stumbled upon an article recently by some Rob dunno what guy in Reef orgs. He wrote it in year 2000, so Im not sure if things have since changed. He mentions that many believe that Xmas Worms feed on the mucus of the porites coral and their (porites) survival is essential in order to keep the worms alive. He does not quite agree with this, as he states that in the wild, only a fraction on these worms will choose Porites to reside in, and worms that reside in Porites coral do not do as well as worms that reside in other types of coral (sorry cant remember which are the ones ). Just thought I'd share the info... has anyone read a recent more definitive article rgding xmas worms? I'm not sure if the one above is outdated and wrong... ~cheers
  21. Yahz... Gobies getting ich is rare... Sometimes I will do a FW dip on newcomers if the LFS i got the fish from is not well... super reputable... yahz~ Safer... Once got a French Angel that wiped out a whole tank of fish.
