  1. Sounds interesting. Never encountered this before and don't know that you can get this many worm from LRs. Let's see some photos!!!
  2. Happens all the time. (From certain LFS that is)
  3. Hmmmm. Can't tell from the photo, is it some transparent gooy stuff? Might be mucus from some anemone.
  4. Hello? Do you know the temperature of ice?? If you put the bottle of ice in, it will bring down the temperature of your tank. Doesn't help. Since temperature is around 25, that's fine already. Let it increase slowly.
  5. What brand is your aircon arrh? Very good leh.
  6. On LFS's advice of course. When I first started out, the LFS also told me that if I want to get my tank up and running fast, I can buy mature water and live sand from him. This way the beneficial bacteria would already be in the sand and water, and the fish can survive. My fish started conking off after a couple of days. Well, lesson learnt. Newbies will almost always make this mistake.
  7. Lighthouse, Buying mature water doesn't really help. What about your tank. Newly set up? Know about the nitrogen cycle? Even if you get mature water, it will take some time for the 'beneficial' bacteria to build up to a sustainable level in your tank. Recommend that you get a test kit for Ammonia, nitrate and PH at least. Let us know your water temp as well. Check these parameters first before we can advise further. If you have no idea what I am talking about. Suggest you read the articles in the 'New to Marine Aquaria Hobby' thread. If you are mixing new seawater, don't just use the water straight from the tap. Chlorine in the water can irritate and kill marine life. Its best to let the water stand in a pail for 1 or 2 days. You can also buy those tablets to remove chlorine form the water.
  8. Your temp changes sounds drastic. Think about setting a higher temp for your air-con at night. Like about 24-25 degrees. At least the temp in your tank will not go down too low.
  9. Think he means that he has got big b***s. 3 inch radius. (you know diameter, radius, etc..)
  10. Hey guys. You're posting in the wrong thread! Heavy hand will be along soon.
  11. Your picture is really blur. Can't tell what it is.
  12. Its hard to change people's attitude sometimes. Face is also another thing to consider. What we can do as a club is to spread the know how of keeping marine animals to the general public, and hope that people learn from it. Like they say in the proverbs; You can lead a horse to water but cannot force it to drink. Saving Nemo started a marine fish trend. There is no denying that it is doing marine animals more harm than good at the moment. We will just have to ride the storm and hope that this trend will die away faster than the Luohan interest. In the meantime, keep spreading the gospel but be prepared for casualties.
  13. Yeah. Look at your LRs closely, you might see some activity on them. Pass some time before your LS comes in.
  14. They have got quite a lot of things these days. Go check them out. Stocks come in on Friday evening.
  15. The address is 235 Lavender Street. Quite near to PR
  16. I notice a reef tank from the reflection on the top right corner of your photograph. Are you planning to transfer the fishes there? Since you have a proper reef environment, it would be good to introduce them to your reef tank after the quarantine.
  17. You might want to try moving the rock to some shaded corner of the tank. This might encourage the anemone to move away without damaging your polyps.
  18. You mean this is a myth meh? So...all this time...
  19. Anemones fighting each other? This I would like to see.
  20. Looks more like a jail cell. This is a very bare quarantine tank. Should put in more things to distract the fish. Helps them to settle down.
  21. Why don't you start off with the articles on top of the 'New to Marine Aquaria Hobby' The 'Are you Thinking of Setting up a Marine Tank' article by bawater is good and well recommended. You can also check out the 'Reef Keeping Links' for more information. Cheers
  22. If you are planning a reef system. Better get your test kits. There are no substitutes. If you are only planning on keep a FOWLR, and hardy marine fishes, you can afford to do away with many of the test kits. This is provided that you are not adding a lot of LSs to your tank.
