  1. You can try royal gamma, they are pinkish in colour also. But they are sometimes quite aggressive though.
  2. Yes I agree with using epsom salt, it really helps. You have to dose the right amount, 1 tbs per 5 gallon of water. You can get it from watson or guardian pharmacy.
  3. I fed them with ##### pellets, once in the morning, noon/night I'll feed them with with "two little fishes" 's marine seaweeds and frozen food, either frozen angels's food, or frozen mysis shrimp. I would suggest not to feed blood worm, as I have bad encounter with feeding blood worms, they lead to internal parasites. I would choose mysis and brine shrimp in terms of price within that range (ard $1.5 - $2 depends on which shop u bought it from).
  4. Ur live rocks and sand are gotten from beach right? If you rinse/wash them with fresh water, the beneficial bacteria will be washed off or die off. You have to start the cycling process by introducing stuff that produce ammonia, since you are not rush in the cycling process (a perfect sign), you can put a piece of market prawn (dead prawn) into the tank in order to start the cycling process by letting the prawn produce ammonia. You will be away from your tank until april? You have to monitor the cycling process in order to make sure it went smooth, if you don't have the time to monitor, you have to make sure both ammonia and nitrite is 0 when you got back, nitrate should be detectable if your tank is cycling well.
  5. Youth is below 21 or 18? 23 considered youth? If it is, let me join in pls!! LOL..Organise some youth outing pls!!!
  6. Bro lemon, ur fish tank is clean, do u scrap the algaes daily? And your sand looks clean too.
  7. Bro, I don't quite understand, you don't use a cooling fan, but how come you have to top up 10L a day? Your tank is near the window/reachable by sunlight? Your tank temp is normal for a tank without fan/chiller, best is you may want to invest in a chiller, I find chiller save me a lot of trouble as compared to fan which I used previously. Even when I used cooling fan previously, my tank did not evaporate as much water as compared to yours... Try not to keep any invert/coral with your current temperature, they won't do well. Fishes should be ok, but their colour may not be as vibrant. And do check out your oxygen level as well, higher temp may have lower oxygen level and lower PH. If you increase your amount of live stock with your current temperature, your PH will further reduce due to the amount of CO2 release (reduction in oxygen level).
  8. Try not to lift the sponge out of the water, air may clog and they will die off.
  9. the 5++ market got sell live brine shirmp previously? I never buy from them before... Only bought frozen ones from them..hehe...
  10. Ya I saw them, 4 packets left, but I'm nto sure if they are dep or brine though. But the price they wrote on the bag is relative high, more than one red note O_O. Wonder if the high price is due to quality eggs.... But I prefer adult brine, baby brine cloud water and fishes won't be able to see them easily...
  11. If I remember correctly its around 5 L
  12. Anyone knows where got sell live brine shrimp now? Went to clementi c328 where they used to sell, but no more.. Wonder if its out of stock or they stop selling..
  13. SL update Angels Lots of flame angels bicolour angel rusty angel lemon peel angel majestic angel yellow angel coral beauty blue face (but think they not selling) asfur angel potter angel lots of yellow tang purple tang kole eye tang powder blue tang powder brown tang sohal tang sailfin tang mimic tang moorish idol foxface
  14. I would suggest fairy wrasse or anthias, but don't get purple queen, they are not easy to feed.
  15. Yup thats what I do, haha. For top up, just pour in directly, for water change, you premix in a pail, and perform water change once matured.
  16. Leaving water over night in a pail will only remove/eveporate chlorine, many of the elements like little trace amount of copper will still be present in the water. Depends on whether you are keeping a FOWLR or a reef tank, generally a FOWLR tank doesn't requires a perfect water condition, but its still better to do so. When using distilled water as top up, trace element will have to be replenish manually by ourselves to prevent deficient in them. Unless water change is done constantly/periodically.
  17. Most of the angels are not reef safe. I think the few reef safe angels are Lamarck, blackspot, watanabe. But they are not dwaft species though.
  18. is your CL650 in good condition? The external cover, and internal stuff etc, like any huge noise when operating?
  19. Your tank is 3 x 2 x 2, if u plan to get resun, u can't get CL 280, it's too low for your tank, the chiller will keep working non stop. You have to at least get CL 450, but CL650 preferred. I have been using CL 450 for 4 years, almost 5 years, annual maintenance, never failed me. But planning to change to CL 650 soon, as the chiller kick start quite often. Btw my tank is smaller than yours by the height, instead of 3 x 2 x 2, mine is 3 x 2 x 1.5.
  20. Make sure you dun buy mineral water, they contain sodium. Check the specs on the bottle, distilled water should indicate 0 mg for all the elements. You can try the brand "Life distilled water", can be purchased easily from NTUC. So far of all the brand, i find this brand the cheapest. 2 x 1.5L cost $0.95.
  21. Or if u lazy to cut, u can buy "two little fish" brand, its in bottle, cutted in fine stripes, have choices of red, green, purple and mix seaweeds.
