  1. Nice fish! Looks pretty good in your pics although it may be difficult to assess in shallow water. Usually I would shy away from any fish that looks like it might have floatation problems in the bag/tank as they are usually bad news. Good luck!
  2. Fuel's dream is to see liopropoma carmabii......mine is to see lipogramma klayi I've already put out feelers for both of them Apparently there is a new gramma out of Cuba - probably a new species - but photos have been held back till a proper id has been made.....
  3. I think it is a juvenile Takeuchi angel (sp?). A Genicanthus angel endemic to Japanese waters and AFAIK there are none in captivity.
  4. Don't think so.....after you see it you will be sad....until you get it!
  5. Get in touch with Edwin Lam. He has bred and raised them before ....but he used to be very closed about it when it came to information. Maybe by now he will be more free with the info.....
  6. Bro, It's not easy to tell the difference in a nicely colored (blue striped) mature allardi and a dark bodied chrysopterus - regional variation makes it harder! I think chrysopterus have a stronger blue stripe in mature fish vs mature allardi. As for juves, chrysopterus juves actually can look different and even look like clarkii. Just go to CF and stare at that row of chrysopterus in the back - good range of juve and adult colors of the dark variants. Then drive down to LCK and stare at the allardis.......can really make your head spin The only "less aggressive" clowns are the skunk group - pink, orange. Even those can get a bit territorial if they get big and start breeding, but generally much less aggressive than the others.
  7. This one also not easy - water temps also need to be along the temps of latz, and possibly a little lower...
  8. Actually, not that no one was interested.....but all were sold! A few pairs sold locally and the rest sold to Thailand.
  9. There is no correlation for the price of leucokranos and black perculas between the US and CF. This is because CF retails them at more or less US retail prices. Maybe just to make a quick buck, but possibly to discourage local sales so they can keep them for their preferred export customers. Last I checked, leuk prices were about US$300 per pair wholesale - but that was when the economy was good, and also when the USD was around 1.7+!
  10. CF leucokranos prices range from $600 to $1,200 per pair nett. These were on the low end as they were small
  11. Must I spell it out? OK...Big McC ....or likely small McCs
  12. We may get to see some around the middle of next year..... stay tuned
  13. Alamak, bro....so sad.... Sorry been busy so couldn't organize to pass you pods but I see you got them already. Just treat the fry like clownfish fry and you should be OK... You can see my thread on this, and also others experiences here
  14. Can generally start on bbs around day 9 or so. The "eye" in the mid body is the swim bladder - very prominent in neon goby larvae....
  15. Huh? Bubbling even before hatch, and all the way through to metamorphosis. the first picture is at 9 days post hatch, the second at 27 days post hatch Took this picture just on the first of the month - 30 days post hatch..
