  5. thank you, you have 1 peacock mantis also, it is a female.
  6. Ya, saw few peacock mantis shrimp at RB, looks like all female. Anyone saw peacock mantis elsewhere- esp. those male ones.
  7. Anyone has a male peacock mantis shrimp to swop with my female peacock mantis, size about 4".
  8. Long time ago at Desaru, one of my friend stepped on a black urchin, there were at least 10 broken spines on his soles. The locals told us to use slipper to hit the sole until the blood flow out. For 10 mins we did nothing but whacked his sole until the blood came out. After that he just felt alright, no more pain at all- quite a miracle. If not, I was told that the pain will came up till your hair level.
  9. I feel one should do research and plan on what ls they want to buy before visiting the lfs. The first mistake is to buy ls on impulse, even you like the fish very much, go home do research and plan another trip to the lfs another time. Do not be afraid to bring along the picture of the fish you want to buy. Fish are plenty and they come in weekly esp if the demands are good. Buy only the fish you have planned to buy. No hard feeling to your friend, but it is a lesson we learnt as beginner.
  10. It is reefsafe, but it will not survive long in a reef tank (1-2 months at most). Reason being it will not take any food, after that the so called feather will slowly break away and can stained your sand.
  11. Pistol shrimp are actually quite blind, and because of their sight problem, they form special relationship with certain fishes from the goby family and aglae benny. The pistol bring food for the fish and the fish warned the shrimp of danger. The pistol shrimp like to dig and shift the sand to build a burrow and search for food and in a way help in the filtration. The only problem is that it like to shoot water from its pincer to make a sharp shooting sound that can be heard from your living room to your bedroom during the night. I have not encountered any loss of ls eversince I put in a pistol shrimp into my tank, but the shrimp always hide itself both day and night.
  12. I have 1 pincushion urchin. It is reefsafe, only problem is that things will struck onto its spines include those hair-like plant.
  13. Looking for those colourful mantis shrimp and tiger piston shrimp. Please let me know if you see them.
  14. Pls let me know if you see this type of mantis shrimp.
  15. Thanks, since no one has any to offer, will buy from lfs.
