  1. Hi, I'm planning to buy a PDA and not sure which is better. It's either a Tungsten E($378) or T($400:promotion). Anyone can advice.
  2. Their fish are expensive and it's 1-2 fish per small tank. Maintanence high, fish price high. They are in gd condition. They might have a big place but sometime might not have the coral that you want.
  3. IMO & from the book , hammer needs a gentle water movement.
  4. Hi, Here's Cf address: 60 Lim Chu Kang Lane 6F, S(718843) Drive along lim chu kang rd, pass sungei gedong camp. Go all the way straight & turn right into Lang 6. At a T junction, turn left. Drive strainght and you will come to a Y junction which you need to take the right side one. Drive straight and you will hit CF.
  5. Hi, I read from the book Corals, that if the water current is strong, the sweeping tentacles will be extended. Hammer perfer gentle water movement.
  6. Hi Kee, You will need to use a electronic ballast not a normal one.
  7. Hammer99, Salinity has nothing to do with pH. They are two different parameter. Pls read up on the matter and difference between all the water parameters.
  8. Hi planetg The ht is abt 1.4m OR2500 cost abt $195, 38W, 2.6m, 2400L/h Eheim1260 cost abt $189.90, 65W, 3.7m, 2400L/h All prices from eaqua. Thanks for the idea abt reducing the elbows, can place the return pump directly below the hole where water goes up into the tank.
  9. Hi nutx, Thank for that tip!!! Aquamedic has a delivery head of 2.6m where else Eheim 1260 has a head or 3.7m. Both their output is the same at 2400L/h.
  10. Thanks, will look into the specification and price. Is there any good feedback on any pump out there for the 2000L/h range?
  11. I think for a 2.5ft tank you got to use a 2ft lamp. I think equanature has a 2x24W ati retrofit which you can hang from the ceiling.
  12. Never looked into aquabee at all. I think it's cheaper than the other 2 but how's the relieability?
  13. A deltec pump will put a big hole in my wallet.
  14. The aqua medic pump's power rating is only 38W compared to eheim's 60W & above
  15. Hi Everyone!!! Has anyone has used Aqua Medic OR 2500 as their returm pump from sump to main tank? How relieable it? Can it be used with saltwater? Is there any other brand that someone like to suggest which have a capacity of ard 2000L/H? Thank you
  16. Ivcap, Welcome to SRC. For a 5ft tank, tunze stream will be a good choice. You might need to a few PH to creat the current in a 5ft. 2 tunze will be able to do the trick.
  17. Hi, I have a bicolor blenny. It's a cute little bully. It's very nice to see hin swim and reverse park himself in a hole. He is just a model in the tanks. I have ever put in a yellow watchman goby after the bicolor. I only saw him once, never see him again.
  18. DrJekyl_MrHyde, I guess Luck has been on my side so far since the flowerpot is doing well in my tank for 4 mths. I also know that it is a difficult coral to keep. Anyway thanks for sharing
  19. I'm having the same type of lighting as yours but my tank is only 2ft. As suggested by sjsheng, get a T5. It will be better for a 3ft. With that type of lighting in my 2ft I keeping, yellow poly, blue mushroomfeather duster, bubble coral, zoanthus, star poly anf even flowerpot coral. They are all doing well. IMO, it differ from system to systems
  20. The brand of the e-ballast shown in the attched pic is elibru( pls correct my spelling). You can also get from osram. Visit www.osram.com.sg and you can see a list of singapore distributor. You can either get the fixed wattage or multiwatt type. I got mine from a distributor in the list
  21. Get a e-ballast meant for single tube. the wiring diagram is printed on the ballast itself.
  22. orgasbt, i'm using the two 2ft tube, 24W each
  23. Hi All I'm thinking of DIY a double tube T5 lamp using a electronic ballast(QTFH 2x24/230-240) from osram. Those that are available in the market(deltec & ati) are powered by a single switch. Is it possible to use 1 e-ballast (stated above) to power up individual T5 tube one at a time? thanks
  24. Agree with coralreef that seahorse need alot of care. They are best left till you have enough exprience to handle their feeding habit. IMO, seahorse are slow eater, therefore the damsels don't go well with seahorse Good companion for seahourse are pipefish. Pls read up more abt seahorse's requirement before buying. You can visit www.peteducation.com and they have a small article abt seahourse care.
