  1. Don't dive with contacts. You can, but you have to remember to close your eyes when you have to flood and flush your mask. But the main reason i don't suggest it is if for what ever reason you lose your mask in-water, you want to be able to at least open your eyes be able to see a where it is.... Best option is to get a prescribed mask set to your normal specs degree.
  2. groupers = swimming garbage bin. Eat anything. But they don't grow that quickly. Besides, once they reach about 800g, just nice to steam! I once had a spare 3ft where i kept my a barramundi and a snapper from my fishing trip. They lasted ...... until we got hungry At least they are easy to feed and are tolerant of water conditions.
  3. Any hook that will sustain the weight of your unit will do. Important thing is the wall plug which is what you screw your hook into. Just make sure you don't use the rubber plugs. Go to any hardware shop, Bring S$10 and you should have change for a drink and snack.
  4. Aiya.... been busy, missed liao. another time perhaps. Buy anything?
  5. 45m was on the top of the ship..... Max water depth? To do this kinda of stuff w/o SSBA is plain stupidity. Darwinian award definately deserved here. ____________ Condolences to his loved ones and family though.....
  6. depends on where and what materials...... oh... and the weight oh your unit. Generally, 50kg metal wall plugs will more than suffice for ceiling.
  7. You fail to say what fish you actually keep. Fish have different preferences and requirements. Find the natural enviromental parameters of the fish you keep and you will solve half your problems. As always, find out before forking out the $$$.
  8. I think as long as they are on a leash, it should be ok....
  9. Errr,.... the frogs will have to stay at home, unless we wanna court the attention of those 'Ahole Versus Animals' people.
  10. heheh... 2 things. Small stone, cable tie. Then just bury the thing. Voila!
  11. Temperature and in fact all parameters depend very much on the livestock you keep. Thus the age old advice to research on the stuff you want to have in the aquarium before you buy and not to simply visit LFS and buying what takes your fancy!!!
  12. I much prefer Draught Guinness, but if it's only cola that i'm allowed, then it really has to the "The REAL thing! Coca Cola!!!!"
  13. very interesting.... will check out this converter the next time i head down to SL. thanks for the tip.
  14. Damn cute man! What happened to them? Or was it those ppl from Arseholes Versus Animals caught up with you? _____________________ Lightningstrike - Don't use whatever detergent on them man! WHWT skin is well know to be very sensitive. You worried about the muzzle stain? Try trimming them a little shorter. Or you can usually just rub with a damn cloth. easy to clear once you get the action and the dog used to it. RE: so called whitening shampoo, usually they just add very light tinge of blue so your dog will appear whiter a bit. If you wanna truely have white dog, bring Austin for swim in the sea. A day in the sun and the surf, will confirm 101% bring out a whiter dog after you bath him. Tried and tested on a few WHWT liao. Not to mention you can exercise your eyes too
  15. Your P4 sure does a pretty good impression of being a Apple G. or am i just looking at the wrong the pic you posted ???? How did you manage to mate the Apple screen together with a conventional cpu set up? I thought the plugs were different. Interesting indeed! Way Cool/!
  16. i dun mind..... i am looking for some stuff. When and where? [note: this a bit off topic, i will delete this post in due course]
  17. Some food for thought.... If you can dive comfortably in Sg water conditions it will undoubtably make you more confident in other waters where conditions are very likely to be much better. When you have low vis, you are (or should be) more aware of your personal stuff like gear, and positioning...etc SG dive areas are usually quite sheltered although the channels we have are susceptable to currents. Which is not very strong, but again, it builds up diver confidence in their ability to cope.
  18. RE: neuprene stuff (suits booties....etc) Very hard to rinse, so those with sensitive skin should not use soapy detergents or powders. Dettol is fine... make sure it is well diluted. Come to think of it.... everything also wash in mild Dettol .... Dun soak your hoses for too long though.
  19. Try Borders@Wheelock. Can't remember the titles available, but i burned accidentally burned an hour or two there when i chanced upon the place.
  20. Neat! must have spent some time waiting to take this vid. Are there any other predators for these flatworms? as in fishie type .....??
  21. Generally.... anthias are rated as 'difficult to maintain'. Many should not even be in aquariums. But there are those 'very commited' who manage to sustain skools of them.
  22. Sort of, but nope. I don't condone pillaging our waters. I deal with marine construction and i recovered this along with one of the structures i work with. Thats why i said rescued, cos otherwise it would have been dead by now
