the clown saga took a twist this afternoon when i saw the picasso kena outcast and chased out of the anemone.

even though the snowflake and picasso had been living together for almost 5 months, black ice managed to steal snowflake heart within a night.

i had to intervene immediately and remove picasso from betta box. now he is alone in the main tank betta area.

with no anemone to accompany him, he is back to bobbing on the water surface.

could it be that the snowflake and black ice, both being oscelleries clown, still prefer their own kind? compared to a picasso which is a perc?

should i get another picasso or platinum then?

any ideas?

the clown saga continues....

ever since the snowflake and black ice chased the picasso out of the anemone and kept attacking the poor picasso, i removed the picasso to another betta and contemplated on what to do next.

finally decided to purchase another ultra grade picasso from joe to accompany the poor guy. i collected picasso #2 today and was worried that, being tank bred, it wouldnt be anemone frenly. bought a smaller pc of anemone and switched with the bigger anemone with snowflake and black ice. i think since these 2 are already hosting on anemone, should be no problem. i needed the bigger pc anemone to fill up the betta box for the picassos.

snowflake and black ice hosted the new anemone in no time. once an anemone lover, always one!

i placed the bigger anemone in with picasso #1 and #2.

picasso #1 seem to remember the anemone and hosted in 15 mins.. while picasso #2 was trying to avoid it at all costs.. haha.

picasso #1 seem to be teaching picasso #2 the ways of an anemone. as the anemone expanded, both were hosting in it 3 hours later.

yippee!!!

here is my picasso pair having fun in the anemone.

and in the other betta, the snowflake and black ice.
