DalunT
Recently i started trying to feed my seahorses by placing food in a bottle to prevent the mess and also to let them have some "fun" searching for food. However i ended up finding 3 crabs and a worm -.- Can anyone help id what type they are?
vtecintegra
Hard to tell without a close up. Worms are probably just bristle worms. I might try that in my tank to see what I can catch.

Slayer213
Probably hairy crabs and bristleworms... Or thundercrabs... Quote Buy fish that excite YOU, and respect others' passions. SRC Member liquidnoise Posted February 8, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted February 8, 2013 i set up the trap with a birdnest glass bottle. cut the MP to small bits. my cleaner shrimp i think stole it. But when I first left it in side we SAW 4 centi looking worming crawling out pointing towards the direction! WTF!
DalunT
Hahaha! my horses were busy eating and suddenly the crab family popped out after 10-15mins... after that the bristle also emerged... i think this method best way to lure out all this xD
Gouldian
Agree, a simple glass bottle with bait leaning on LR is a very efficient trap for bristle worms and crabs. SRC Member liquidnoise Posted February 8, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted February 8, 2013 but the problem is that the cleaner shrimp is fast worker. grabs the MP before anything else.
kamino
Good to know such small bottles work too. I don't particularly like using cola bottles since they are too light Time to drink more bird nest ;p
rekian
but the problem is that the cleaner shrimp is fast worker. grabs the MP before anything else. Then catch your cleaner shrimp first. Isolated after you are done with traping the worm and crab. Release it back.

Release it back. i was tinking. Wat if we use a half a pcs of MP? we only have a small nano tank hence if we catch the shrimp dunno where to keep. SRC Member liquidnoise Posted February 14, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted February 14, 2013 Use the chicken essence bottles n leave it there helps a lot...auto went in...I tried last time without baits tats wat we did. anyways, managed to catch the crab with my bare hands. saw the crab on the sand quickly use long stick to pin the fellow down the use hand to take it out. Now the crab is living in the chicken essence bottle alone. Suprise it can live so long with only water. drop alittle food for the fellow to eat.
