SRC Member james72 Posted February 3, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 3, 2004 Hi guys, need your advise........I have the below anemone for abt 5days, it seems to have some green stuffs inside its body and once a while it will start discharging these green "pills" stuffs through its mouth. Any idea what is it? Any toxic or is it an indication that my anemone is dying? Anfield
Maybe u should put it into ur Q-T for monitoring if u scared anything happened to it which might affect ur main tank.

Achilles Tang
It's probably just discharging wastes from its mouth. If its stringy & brown, its zooxanthellea.

Nah, its very green, and the shape is like a pill, very very small pills..... Sponsor eaquarist Posted February 3, 2004 Sponsor Share Posted February 3, 2004 Wow, that's pretty interesting....are the green pills of equal size and released at regular intervals? Well, just a wild guess but I think it could be eggs. I'd had a tube anemone do that once and the black little beads filled the entire tank. I'm not really sure if anemones undergo sexual reproduction like most invertebrates as they often split into two by budding vegetatively. Will check my reference by Rupert Barnes tomorrow....left in office
