It is common in FOWLR tank. I have loss Regal, blue lip, king, Poma, French and half moon angels, also brown powder tang, black powder tang, ABT within 2 weeks last time. Sometimes, it just outbreaks

Your loss should be less than mine. Just hold on and learnt from it. Cheers..

I also thinking of convert to LPS reef tank. I also heard it is more easier.

Agreed that cupramine is good to use for FOWLR system..look like once dose into DT, u will need to dose again n again upon seeing any weird symptom of fishes..once miss it, crash..this is something I fear of as I go overseas often..I believe in QT..I have a 2ft QT running n regretted not using it for the new fishes..its a painful lesson learn definitely..

Let's move on n cheers..happy reefing

Gonna patiently wait for a month b4 adding new fish..tank currently dosing cupramine to kill all parasites..

A new start..

You should maintain at 0.3 level and start adding fishes now. By the end of the 3 to 4 weeks, you start reducing the copper level and stop adding fish.

Do water change as normal and dose back the copper level after water change.

After running copper level for 5 days, most of the floating parasite are killed. When you added new fish, it also come with new parasites. So back to square one. So you have to extend the period when you add new fish.

Noted bro..I give 2 week of copper treatment for any new fish addition (fish smaller than 6" will b QT)..

Ya bro..suspecting velvet is the cause..to kill this parasites required either fishless for 4 week or cupramine for 2 week..my tank now into day 4 of cupramine treatment..total of 50ml cupramine dose, API test kit read ard 0.25ppm..gonna stay at this level for 2 week n monitor the remaining fishes..maybe gg to do a 30% wc then add in 1-2 new fishes to test water..hope that work well..

Hello bro, firstly feel sorry for your loses. Secondly, pls consider using a Salifert copper test kit instead of the API. API test kits are more towards chelated copper which requires a higher dosage. Newer API test kits could also test ionic copper which cupramine is but it will give u lesser accuracy since APIs are more geared towards higher ppm accuracy,i.e > 1ppm. API also has this weird way of reading the results such that seeing sideway and from on top could give diff readings. So all in all do consider the Salifert. U could do a simple search on RC to see people's review on it.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes

Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like.

Noted bro..thks alot..

For the API test kit, its to look down into the tube top..I just need to see a little beige Colour will do as I do have snails inside my tank, so dun wanna have too high copper level..hope longer treatment time will compensate the lower copper level power..cheers

Bros. So you all dose cupramine for QT? I have been trying this new method where I prophylactically treat with formalin and then hypo for a couple weeks before slowly adjusting back to normal salinity. I find dosing copper and testing levels very cumbersome. Not sure how effective my method is. Will tell you all. A cb butterfly fish did alright for my first try. Trying with a purple tang now.

Ok bro..for QT, there r many methods..there's no right or wrong if thing goes smoothly for u..which way more troublesome is up to individual too as doing hypo require a lot of effort imho..cupramine is good to cure fish if fish is found to be sick..its good in killing parasites too..cheers n happy reefing
