Maybe chk ur calcium levels, most clams need gd calcium levels to strive other than lighting.

Sori 2 hijack bro 37alpha.. as mine oso hav the same prob. Izit the bigger the clam is & its color wil start 2 spread then fade..? My calcium is abt 450ppm. But my oni worries is the undowndable hi nitrate. Izit the cause? Any clam siao bro here can advise?

I dun think its high nitrates cos its will not only affect your clam but fishes and corals too. What I mean high nitrates will be those above 100ppm. Test kit shd be able to detect.

Depends also on your maxspect height and kelvin. For mine its 10k, so i have to use alot of blue. Its currently set at peak 60%w, 80%b. I am considering increasing the blue to 90%.

Hi bro, any idea why your nitrates are undownable? I used to have this same problem. I changed out almost full tank of water weekly previously to try to get my nitrates back down, didn't help abit, so i understand what u mean by undownable. Problem is you need to try to find the cause of the nitrates. Could be high bioload, overfeeding, old rocks n sand, plenty of dead zone in your tank, insufficient skimming etc. What i did was to counter every single problem mentioned, and on top of that started bacteria dosing and introduced algone patches. Now my nitrates sit at 0.5.
