There are many ups and downs in this hobby and today is definitely a down day for me. Whole tank suddenly become cloudy and have many white slime in the refugium. I guess it's the bp which is partially my fault as I added more then recommended. Positive side is that all sps lps and fishes are still alive. I hope it will clear off in a few days. If Any1 have any suggestion please guide along. Much appreciated :(post-23773-14109537609052_thumb.jpgpost-23773-14109537655317_thumb.jpg

I siphoned as much out as possible... And placed filters at every outlet... And blasted the wavemakers for about an hour... And siphonedaga again... That got rid of most... Mine erupted due to me forgetting to switch on my skimmer after coral feeding...

i have siphoned as much slime out already and thank god its only in the sump. Did a 75litre wc as cant produce much water in a short time w DI unit. Hope tmr will get better.

Lesson learnt after this event:

1.Always follow the instructions of the product.

2.Always have stand by water for emergency.

Throw in a air pump and adjust wavemakers near water surface to suck air and increase oxygenation. I think you have a bacteria bloom

Coral should be ok, its the fishes that will die first. You will see fishes staying near water surface.

Bacteria bloom no sweat!

-aim wavemaker up , to have more surface agitation like james said to have more gas exchange.

-reduce biopellet reactor flowrate

-stop carbon dosing/bacteria

-look out your nutrient level, may drop fast.

Will take few days before tank is clear again.

They will survive for sure (:

skimmer will help to skim them out

actually some bit amount of bacteria can be food for the coral

the concern here is low level of oxygen and light due to the

cloudiness

My concern now is the light not able to panatrate through the cloudy water:(

If it is bacteria bloom, it should clear soon. Just make sure u keep your water oxygenated. And dun worry about light lah, there r also long stretches of cloudy days over natural reefs. So a few days shd be fine.

Yea bro tanks. I hope so too. Can't wait to finis work and check my tank out:)
