comments needed on my skimmer plan

look at this original H&S...it is a in-sump kind, i think...if your sump can accomadate your skimmer, then its more advisable...building a out-of-sump kind, u need to use a lot of elbows which will decrease the flowrate of the pump and in turn reduce the amount of air-intake....juz abit of my experience from my FAILED DIY H&S....

hmmm....interesting suggestion typrobin, i have seen skimmers with needlewheel inpeller pumps. but i would prefer a venturi because of certain reasons. :thanks: anyway and your venturi design is nice!!!!
