SRC Member Bunster Posted October 10, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 10, 2014 Hi bro... That's the latest led from maxspect right? Is it dimmable? Start off with the lowest for now. Mushrooms really like low light and low flow. Do u have a pic of it?
SRC Supporter dinGdinG Posted October 11, 2014 Author SRC Supporter Share Posted October 11, 2014 Yo Bunster bro, I am not sure if the lights are dimmable but i tried and tested a few intensity it had and the mushrooms seem to open better with this intensity.. This a shot of my mushrooms 2 days ago, but it was much better this morning, didnt get a shot of it though.. Praying it will get better after i coral dip it and wc 10%... SRC Member Bunster Posted October 11, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 11, 2014 The new lights look nice. Why don't u try placing the mushrooms under the arch, in the shade and observe a couple of days. They are usually quite tough, should survive

Now its so happy and wide open till i cannot see the rock they are attached to.. Time to shop for more~! Woohoo! Quote Just have to keep reefing... cant stop now~! I was amazed from the beginning till the end~!! An eye opener~!!) and a green jewel from a pasir ris lfs.. Green jewel from lfs (PS: Please please dip all corals from lfs.. they may look fantastic in their shop but you never know whats inside, a coral rx dip before entering my dt and out came AT LEAST 10 worm looking creatures, and one of it is big and FAT~!... tsk tsk tsk... lucky lucky me... I rather go through the trouble now then having the trouble of catching them in my dt in the future..) Zoas Frags, Robin Hood & Armour Of Good~! (Coral dipped it too, nothing came out.. must be due to the good care of bro Cedricang ) Happy Family of 3 (For now, hahaha) Happy Sunday~!!!! Cheers~!! Is the green jewel a goniopora? Yeap, nice zoas from cedric.. have you visited him before?? amazing fish room......... The green jewel looks like a goniopora after some search on the internet, but im not so sure... Have you kept one before? Any special care needed? it seems happy enough with the lighting and flow, was wondering if i need to give somemore calcium because its a stoney coral.. btw, i realised its definitely an impulse buy after doing some research on it... Btw, give me some photographing tips leh hahaha Quote Just have to keep reefing... cant stop now~!

Btw, give me some photographing tips leh hahaha yes I've bought from Cedric before... quality sps... his fish room is wow... I've tried a goniopora before... died despite everything I tried. Will probably not buy another one. If its happy where it is now, then leave it be. You might want to consider target feeding it. Don't dose calcium unless you know your levels. Get a salifert calcium test kit.. and kh too. If you're shooting with a hp, turn off the blue lights if u can... might appear very yellow but will look ok on yr phone. SRC Supporter dinGdinG Posted October 22, 2014 Author SRC Supporter Share Posted October 22, 2014 New fish~~! Purple firefish from ML~!! I love the blur look it has.. Btw, i have been very bothered by tons of tiny white bugs crawling out at night to feed on the algae growing in my tank.. I ran a search online and understand that they are the so-called pods but I am not so sure though.. Any bros can help to verify?? Boxed them up in red for easy referencing... At least hundreds of them... Should i get rid of them? Quote Just have to keep reefing... cant stop now~!
shaohao85
I think is pods .. is a good thing .. just keep it once u have enough population u can keep dragonets and mandrians ..

SRC Member Angel Keeper Posted October 22, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 22, 2014 It's a good food source for your firefish as well... SRC Supporter dinGdinG Posted October 23, 2014 Author SRC Supporter Share Posted October 23, 2014 Thanks angel keeper! But just curious, how will one know if they already have a sustainable population of pods to start keeping dragonets? The pods are so tiny that i assume you will actually need thousands of them to keep just 1 dragonet.. Quote Just have to keep reefing... cant stop now~! SRC Member Bunster Posted October 23, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 23, 2014 Pods are good bro. But they will get depleted quite fast once you start adding more fish, especially in a nano.

Planted
My pods got depleted within 1 day by Chromis... for the light, I'm using 60w w wide angle lens. Have to go low to balance algae and coral needs. No sps so doesn't matter.
