Need help with always cloudy water

Recommended Posts

Hi bros and sis,

I have a problem with my reef tank water is always cloudy, can you please help to share some good tips to overcome that..

I have done 100% WC due to house relocation on 1/3/2015 and 30% water change on last weekend

below is my tank spec..

DT: 30"x24"x17" bare bottom

sump: 26'x20'x18"

Skimmer: BM C7

Reactor 1: H20cean with rowa Pho

Reactor 2: H2Ocean with rowa Carbon

Return Ehiem 1264

Refu: NA

my live stock

1x blue tang

1x coral beauty

2x blue chromis

1x 6 line warrse

1x Black back butterfly

1x watchman goby

10x snails

I think my tank is not overstock for 48 gallon DT. for feeding, I do feed 2 times everyday with 1 pack of FBS each. All of my fishes are doing fine with me for many months.

My tank parameters are

Ammo: 0

N02: 0

N03- 10 to 15

PO4: undetectable

PH: 8.1 to 8.2

Temper: 26'C

so, is there any reason causing my tank cloudy. please advise me. thanks a lot.

try using active carbon. Cos last time my fresh water tank also always yellowish. After adding active carbon it gets better.

Noted bro. I was worried it was rowaphos causing it. But i did first row of draining with distilled water until it is clear.

Gonna try some carbon to see if it helps .

Is rowa carbon useful? will i also be able to run this media together with biopellets or phosban?

I think shouldn't be a prob. Cos they are just like a filter media. Just put the whole bag in. U can goggle on how they function.

Did you add a filter wool. Could it be your salt mix?

I used RSCP salt and the water was cloudy until someone told me to add filter wool...

1 day, crystal clear, macam I'm diving in Koh Tao(Thailand) like that.
