richard23
Hi, Wanted to know what are the possible causes for my chalice, enchinata, bali brain and lobo all showing some skeleton or residing at the edge of the coral. All zoanthids sps and other LPS are doing fine..parameters are sg 1.026, 26 degrees, kh 7.7, cal 445, mg 1380 but no3 po4 not tested... SRC Member JMW Posted September 15, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted September 15, 2015 Try getting PO4 tested? High PO4 will directly inhibit calcification, but I'm not so sure if it can cause tissue recession. What's your feeding & WC schedules like? Spotted any nocturnal pests having a munch? Admiraltian
If ur nutrients too low, it will cause fleshy lps to recede even when u feed them weekly. Cos I think they need a constant supply of food. This is base on my own experience. Admiraltian
oh is it? ok I learnt something new today What u can try now is maybe feed ur lps more often. See whether there's any improvement. Also chk ur no3. If less than 5ppm then maybe too low for ur lps. SRC Member daveyy Posted September 30, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted September 30, 2015 Is your wavemaker directed at them? If it is, this might be one of the reason.
richard23
Nop...all my lps are away from the wavemaker...its either below the tank or way behind the tank...im using two mp40 but on nutrient export mode at 100% intensity.
SRC Member daveyy Posted October 2, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted October 2, 2015 key question, are they gently swaying? if not, that would most likely be the problem.
