Tune down the blue for phototaking.
Or use an orange filter.
No camera sensor can read the blue light accurately

Oh okay will tune the blue down when ever im taking photo btw phones have orange filter?

The Hydra 52 hd I will avoid at all cost due to the lens it use.
The angle of the lens result in spotlight and burnt effect.
Its a good light if you remove the lens

Bro,
Interesting fact. Never heard about it before but worth checking on it since i have not bought it yet.
So which brand/ model would you recommend other than Ecotech Radion ( most ex and good I presume) for 3ft?

May i know the light you are using for your 5ft was radion G4?

Any review or article to show me regarding on the angle of lens for hydra 52?

Link provided will be very much appreciated.

Radion G4 easily cover 3 x 2 althought it is spec as 3 x 3 for general reefing

For SPS coverage is 2.5 x 1 .5

The spot lighting in G4 is greatly reduce by the new lens

SSpot lighting damages the corals. That what i read.

Getting one radion for general reefing would be good, confident to try sps than will add in another..

But one set of that wasn't cheap.

Both Hydra and Radion are good lights. Only one is better then the others.

What bad about 80degree lens? Isn't that the best balance?

Optics

The Hydra FiftyTwoâ„¢ HD comes standard with 80 degree lenses giving you the best balance of power and spread. Our lens optics are custom designed, boasting greater than 90% optical efficiency and including a diffuse exit surface to provide improved color blending.

80 deg the light penetration is about 6 ft.
You need a very high tank to make use of the light. Or you hang your hydra very high

Ok I got it..

I just went to Madpetz today to understand about this lighting. KEN mention It a good light set, but you need to hang the light at least 16 to 18 inch above water level. ( If i remeber correctly)

If not it will spot kill the corals, I went to a few shops they are using AI Hydra. Fish Channel, MadPetz and Larry's main tank all their Hydra hang high and their corals are still very nice.

Buy two Hyrda is alot cheaper compare to radion.

You may want to reconisder your budget if you're going for LED. Think AI Hydra 52HD is at 8 plus already. My 2 feet runs the 24/28HD but i still feel that 52 would be better but a bit overkill. So... my 2 cents worth. :)

Yes now i'm consolidating the items.
