SRC Member jem Posted October 23, 2016 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 23, 2016 diatom bloom after 1 week of cycle, expected it as i use tap water for saltmixing. first TDS test of pure tap water 88PPM.
Clamence
Bro should invest in at least DI unit if u want to build a reef. Controlling algae while using tap water can be difficultSent from my Mi 4i using Tapatalk
SRC Member jem Posted October 23, 2016 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 23, 2016 @Clamence good recommendation. need to find a place and $$ for a RODI unit. while wife is shopping online for groceries, might as well tompang in a carton of LIFE water delivered to my doorstep reading at 6PPM! gonna do a 30% water change soon with the distilled water. SRC Member jem Posted October 26, 2016 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 26, 2016 thanks @sharonleong 2nd Week into cycling... Nitrate seems to be around 0-5ppm.. ugh this color chart are really hard to read... Ammonia 0ppm I bought a Seachem No2 and No3 test kit last week. Only to figure out their reagent is bonkers.. Test indication should be pink but its turning out milky brown... oh well gives me another reason to head to the LFS, dont know if they will allow me to exchange with other items though.. Adjusted my rockscape again and quite happy with the results. Might need another 1-3 piece of liverock to fill up the top
