Hello everyone!

I'm a new member from New Zealand.

Been doing marine keeping around 5 years now, never done anything fancy, more because of the market here is really small and live stock are very expensive.

I stared 5 years ago with a Juwel 180L tank with simple corals and few fish:

After few month I upgraded to the aqua reef 400

In early 2014 I closed down my tank due to work commitments, it was so sad I had to sell all live stock and empty the whole tank.

Starting again lol!

I don't think I will ever give up this hobby!

Been looking at the Red Sea reefer tank and loving the clean design.

Finally decided on the reefer xl425 because it fits the spot nicely, it took a bit of time for it to arrive, but it was worth waiting!

Arrived!

Lovely! Waiting for more updates from you!
I wonder how do reefers in other parts of the world manage the temperature in different seasons, guess you got to have both chiller and heaters?

Thanks Nivleksg
Im in Auckland and we get heat during the summer, tanks can easily get up to 29 degree without a chiller.
I'm using a Hailea 500 chiller with two eheim 300w heater for my temperature control.

Welcome bro! Do ur get alot of shipment of aussie corals since its near nz?

No... I wish we can access more of the oz corals!
unfortunately importing live stock in to New Zealand is not easy, especially with 4-6 weeks of quarantine procedure makes all live stock expensive.

Did you choose to assemble the cabinet by yourself? Because my reefer tank comes with installation too.. btw been to so many shops for tank shopping.. red sea reefer is the most satisfying to look at

Yea I got it in the box, I picked it up from the warehouse lol, luckily it fits my car perfectly!
Talking about packaging, I think Red Sea has done the best job in the whole world when it comes to aquarium packaging, I can really see how much they've invested just to make sure the tank gets to the end user in perfect condition.
Building the cabinet was easy too, I've done it me self with simple tools, again it's one of the best aquarium cabinet I've ever build!

Manage to install the cabinet door and dosing pump.

Here's my dosing schedule:
2x5ml nopox daily (on dosing pump)
5x10ml Red Sea foundation b stock solution (made with foundation b powder) daily (on dosing pump)
17g Red Sea foundation abc+ powder daily (manually dose)
Zeovit color system 1/2/3/4 15ml each bottle once a week

This dosing schedule is only temporary until I set up the full calcium/kh/mg automatic dosing schedule.
