Does anyone have a recommendation for aquarium fans that just work silently in the background? So far, those that I have tried are rather noisy and kinda spoils the ambience especially at night..thanks.

I think most are noisey...have yet to come across one that is quiet.

However, if your fan is the DC type, you can get a additional AC-DC adaptor and step down the voltage....but make sure your current matches those of the fan if not the adaptor can spolit quite fast!

dun get ocean free fans, seems to be a lot of fan but no power ones...

best to get the single fan type and with the clamp...

Too late! I have tried those ocean free ones - noisy like mad and little wind, and already spoilt. I am now using this single one with the clamp. Very durable and strong, therefore very noisy, sounds like hairdryer... Too bad the Germans don't make high end.. ermm..fans.

For me, I just get two dc fan from Sim lim and connect it to a mobile phone cahrger and wah lah!

Mobile phone charger usually about 400mAh and 1 dc fan is about 130mAh so can hook 2 fan to one charger.
