clam spawning

hi all, how to tell if your clams are spawning? read somewhere that clams can die during this period..is it true? any clam experts?

They eject something white into the water if I'm not wrong... but I doubt any home aquarist has ever been able to spawn them successfully... or have they??

Hi Godzilla,

I have clams spawn before. They pump out this white cloud thing very fast. Looks like sperm. Soon other clams join in too. It lasted around 40 min to an hour. My whole tank look like someone pour milk in there. The skimmer went crazy too. If you have cleaner shrimps in there, keep an eye on them. Mine kill 2 clams after they spawn. You need to do big water change if you have a few clams spawn.
