Joo i dont understand what u mean by this phrase " again when the shrooms shrunk when i finally turned the lights off after leaving it on the whole nite... "

But it all depends on the kind of lights u are using.

Yes all corals would require some time to rest , or sleep u can call it .

The timing for the lighting up period would be totally up to u ..

As for me my lights are turn on from 9am to 6pm daily using a timer.

Which i am using 3 x 39watts ATI T5 tubes ..

Leaving the lights turn on 24hrs would not promote more growth but just death to the corals .. :phone:

haha.. i see.. first time i got worried was when the shrooms spewed their guts out.. later they got better.. but i dunno how long they need the light so i left them on the whole nite and switch off only in the morning.. at noon i saw that the shrooms had shrunk.. so i turned on the lights again and they started to bloom again..

anyways i guess from now on i shall regulate the times to 8 hrs a day... thnx woonming..

:off: The LCK 11* we normally talk about is different, its NEW TRIO...not Coral Farm. Though they are quite near each other if you drive. IF not, got to join other reefers who goes there frequently....

They do bring in a variety of mushroom corals....it depends on your sharp eyes to find the nice ones...and the water quality in your tank for it to bloom...

I do have my loses and sometimes, I do lose some really nice specimens to bleaching and brown slime.. :off:

wow.. in that case hopefully there is a thread in here that organises such 'outings' to LCK.. otherwise that place seems a little in the middle of nowhere... =(

u can take bus 925 from woodlands interchange or kranji mrt....

on Sundays, the bus goes all the way to Sungei Buloh... that's where u alight n walk for ard 20~25 mins to get to LCK1**...

but i wld recommend u go there first by car so that u noe where u r walking...
