Crab trap

Item need: 1 x 1.5ml of plastic bottle

(1) cut 1/3 of the upper part of the bottle.

(2) cut 3/4 from the bottom part of the bottle. (i.e. center part of the bottle is not needed)

(3) force the upper part into the bottom part of the bottle.

(4) ensure the entry of the bottle is slightly offset from the center of the bottle; to allow the crab to crawl in easily.

(5) to begin, start some bait into the bottom of the bottle. (e.g. market prawn)

Ans: Crab more active during the night.

Ans: Yes, you can.

(6) Take note: place this trap into your tank where it sit on the sandbed. place it in such a way that small fishes or shrimps will not get into the trap. (e.g. place against rock wall; blocking the large opening. (i.e. crab can make its way tru small holes from the rocks into the trap.

Remove it and place the trap somewhere is inaccessible to all fishes and shrimps.

I spotted a crab within the rocks. Setup the trap and leave it thru one night.

Found it trapped the next morning.

I put frozen brine shrimp inside.

This trap is very effective, I caught a few shrimps and crabs.

Sorry to hear that. Holes at the trap area is good for water circulation.

yep, i tried it too.

In the morning the food was gone, and no crab. I blocked it against the rock to make sure the shrimp would not go inside. The trap was fully submerged under the water, maybe that was the problem.

Sigh....
