Temperature question - 29 deg C?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am just cycling my tank.

The temperature now seems to be from 28.3 (morning) - 29.9 deg C (evening).

So my question is: can I make do with this or do I need to cool it down? I know some sites say should be around 27 deg C.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies

You can use a AC fan with a auto topup system since your room temp. is not too high.................that will set you loads of saving from electricity bills.

To be more precise, check your temp. at various timing of the day for minimum and maximum........take into consideration your max equipment running load too as equipment does contribute to the heat in your water.

Actually if your temperature at evening is 29.9 it is a good bet that your maximum in the midafternoon will cross 30 or even 31.

Don't think an AC fan can bring it down that much (without major evaporation issues) so if you are going for corals think carefully about a chiller.

Or you can be like me and have fish only at 30 degrees

:P

Be teachable always, nobody has a monopoly on wisdom. But learn to distinguish "fact" from "opinion".
