My Beckett Skimmer from Coral Labs

Hi

Just like to share my new Beckett skimmer from Coral Labs

Used to have AquaC EV 120 for my 3x2.5x2ft mainly sps tank with 6 fishes (algae blenny, kole, YT, leopard wrasse, yellow wrasse & a mandarin) & no feeding.

I use carbon and no PO4 removal and have no algae problems.

But I have some troubles in colouring up sps or maintaing their colour.

Upon the advice of Scarab & Dan, I decided to buy a Coral Labs' 8 inch diameter 1 metre tall single beckett skimmer.

The skimmer is driven by a MD 55 and the bubble is fine and dense.

A tall/higher base box is good

as i have seen too many becketts around with 'pancake' bases which result in alot of microbubbles exiting the skimmers.

Glad to see another beckett user

The beckett is easy to take out & clean, simply by removing the thumb screw

The finishing of the product is great with machine cut groove for the O ring

With the Coral Lab beckett skimmer in action, the following observations:

1) clearer water (less dissolved organic matter is available in the water column)

2) Colouration of the sps improved (less DOM, less Zoox, less brown and better colouration)

I can introduce more fishes into the tank and feed regularly. The new inhabitants are:

1) 14 chromis

2) 1 Flame angel

Anyway, well done on the acquisition. Your corals will love you and reward you with awesome colour.
