Guys, I have an office aquarium (50 gallons) that has an orange line trigger fish. was wondering what other fish I would could keep with it.

Any comments?

Orange-lined trigger? Do you mean the Undulate Trigger?

If this is the trigger you have then i'm afraid you really can't keep anything else in it... unless you put a divider to divide your tank or something. Cos unless your trigger is a small juvenile, it will slowly and mercilessly tear the fins of any other fish apart.

I'm speaking from personal experience.. Was keeping an Undulate Trigger then added a polka-dot (panthar) grouper that was even bigger than the trigger in a FOWLR tank. Thought the grouper would be able to fend for himself as groupers tend to be aggressive fishes themselves.. but i was wrong. Though the trigger was seemingly well-behaved in my presence, i found the fins and tail of my grouper badly bitten the next morning. Had to transfer away the grouper immediately. A really nasty fella.. don't be fooled by the fact that it looks like a shy fish, always hiding behind the rocks when the owner approaches the tank.

In retrospect, i don't think this trigger is really worth keeping considering that it'll need the whole tank to itself... in which case a clown trigger would be a more attractive proposition.. Just my personal opinion lah.

Hmmm.. NOT speaking from exprience..

But maybe if you could make your tank a trigger tank? Add other triggers like Picasso, Clown, Blue Throat, Niger... etc.

Dunno if it will work, but just a thought that came to my mind..

FME

Ya can find Clowns that wont be so agressive.

Almost impossible with Undulatus.

Queen and Fuscus are completing the list of "The Good Fellas"

Dont you forget one thing, if you house those guys in a large tank with more dicile triggers like Niger and Picasso, feed with feeder fish etc. the later will learn and become lethal machines after a couple of month only.

Undulatus is a crazy trigger, I've been following a large specimen in the Red Sea, he is a gangsta there as well :D
