Calling all H&S skimmer users

Hi all fellow reefers,

calling out to all H&S skimmer users, am just wondering how did you guys tune your air valve ? in terms of pecentage ?

Do you add an additional valve at the end of the air value to control ?

As i owned the 850L insump model, it uses a aquabee 2000f/l pump to run it.

Am also toying with the idea of changing it to the aquabee 3000f/l pump.

Has anyone tried these methods before ?

aquabee 2000l/hr? i tot shld be 3000l/hr? if u want to change,change it to a ehiem pump.

I thought H&S pump is unique that it has a propeller to chop up the water to generate the bubbles.

Ehiem pump is just a solid power pump, don't generate much bubbles.

Good only if Ehiem is use with AquaC E series skimmer, which is down shaft force technology.

hehe ya, i was confused for awhile and i thought ehiem made new needlewheel pumps.

RedDevil bro, the h&s skimmer comes with a 2000l not 3000l and i certainly cannot use eheim pump

Guess i'll just leave it as it is till the pump breaks down:P

but im just curious what will the 3000l model do?

to its advantage or disadvantage ?

I just got a A150 and still tryint to toy around. anyone can advise the best way to maximise this skimmer?

Current running with Rio20HF with Mezzei injector. still not sure what is the best way to tune it!

As I got as used set so no manual or so, if anyone can help to share the user manual will be great.

Can those with HnS post some of the picture of the unit running?

how to modify eheim pump to needle wheel?

just changed my feeding pump to Eheim 1250 with modified needlewheel. Now I can see 3/4 of the chamber with bubbles!! SL advise is to use feeding not more than 1200 l/h and adjust the water level to just at the connection of the collection cup. in another word, if you remove the collection cup, you still can turn on the skimmer!

Will monitor the result...
