Seio 820

I bought a brand new Seio 820 from Petmart last weekend and after jus 5 days of usage, it died on me. Anyone experienced this? Is Seio really that unreliable? Will Petmart replace the product?

Have you tried opening the Seio and cleaning the magnetic propellor inside? I had a Seio 820 lying around which I had not used before and it couldn't work when I finally wanted to use it. But a reefer advised me to open the Seio and simply give the magnetic propellors inside a gentle wipe. After that, it worked!

check the plug connection to the power point.

I will definately go back to the shop to claim the warranty

I tried everything you guys suggested but it's still dead. Will go back to the shop. 5 days of usage only is too much.

Seio is normally pretty good - i am using two. As others have said, make sure that the impeller is not jammed with anything and that you do have electricity to your outlet. Petmart should replace it under warranty if it is only a few days old.

If you have a multimeter measure the resistance between the two pins on the power plug. If the resistance is high then it looks like the motor winding is open-circuit (in other words it is kaput).

Went to petmart and the guy there took it apart and pushed the white impeller rod inwards and it worked again. Now still going fine in my tank. Keeping my fingers crossed.
