Hi everybody,

can anyone help with this issues.

My prata when placed too high in he tank, it does not expand fully. I thought it is suppose to be placed at the sand bed.

So i moved it to the sand bed. But after a day it shrunk to bones. This morning i moved it to mid level.

Is it true that "sand bed is not so good for reef because it have a lot of nitrates?" I read here somewhere that sandbed have a lot of nitrates or nitrites and it is no good but another falculty says that sand bed is good for maturing the system.... can someone enlinghten me on this two schools of thought.

as for my prata, can someone tell me what is it's preference on placement. water flow rates? lighting? top/mid/bottom level etc...

anyone helpful soul care to enlighten me!

Thanks a million in advance...

 let us knw ur current / latest water parameters. So we can assit u.

IMO, prata do not like heavy flow, with a bit of flow blowing. its fine.

as for the placement, let me share mine placement. personally...i have 3 pratas.

One if it is sitting on a top portion on a rock.

Still new, so take some time for it to bloom. quite OK.

second one, mid level...blooming big and nice.

lastly, the longest staying object, bottom of the sandbed...blooming well.

i do experiece that certain spots will cause the prate to die. Dun know why too?

So monitor and shift accordingly. BUT dun stress them too much! ;)

hpe these helz, reefz on...! :D

i think u shouldn't move the prata around too much. If i were you, i'll leave the fella on the sandbed for a few weeks. if he really never open means he doesent like the spot. then shift him to another location for another 2 weeks. If you move him every other day, he'll most prob die of stress than any thing else. Yup, and there are some spots whereby when you put the coral there, it;ll die for no reason. So far experienced 2 liao. Sob
