Cleaner wrasse/ Doctor fish

Anyone have success in keeping one? I mean for a long time, not weeks. Care to share which types and how to make them last longer in tank?

the normal cleaner wrasse, the trick is to get them to start feeding normal food, cos their diet does not include that. but once you can get them to feed, they can be kept indefinitely... Henry has 1, which he feeds with his special mix, fed it till its like really big... haha.. the cleaner wrasse still around in his main tank, you can go take a look there.

Thanks bro colinsoon. the problem I have is when I doze additives or kalk they will disappear Any clue why?

additives are for the water parameters, kalk also too. anyway when dozing kalk, its better for the fishes to disappear, cos kalk is quite caustic, and if there happens to be a chance that some undisolved particles get into the tank, and the fishes eat them, something bad's gonna happen...

doze at night is the best bet.

i dun think dozing any of the above gotta do with the fishies disappearing.. they disappear cos they feel insecure... thats bout all...

Mine is still going strong...had it for around 4 months, guess i was lucky and got it to feed on brine shrimps and small tiny pellets....

Erm, dunno what brand the pellets....bought it together with my 1st tank and LS. Where do you stay? If nearby i can spare you some.... I find omega 1 and 2 pellets too big for most of my fishes...

At a place in S'goon i wished i've never gone...so exp the stuff there. I try and take a pic of the can of pellets, the words behind are in japanese, cant make them out....

3 months .. getting abit too big in size

they fight if not introduced together..

my poor smaller guy hide from rock to rock and only appear during feeding

I've tried for about 8 months.. and only the 2 from ML are strong enuff..

and they are not afraid of me (clean my hand whenever i clean the tank)

the rest last max 4 days

Cool, they actually feed it at the shop and let you see? I had a multicoloured one which lasted a few days only, really love that specimen...

My experience is that they are not hard to keep once they get properly acclimatized in your tank. Mine live for 1year + in my tank until it became a nuisance keep picking on the prawn that I feed to my coral/prata. Finally had to catch it out.

Bought this Hawaiian cleaner wrasse only lasted for week do they eat pods if yes should have put it in my sump.

very hardy.. problem is v small have to be careful of its tankmates..

Cleaner wrasse... put it in a basket, teach it to feed on dry food. if feeds, can last for years... if not, give it some live food like brine or myshis shrimp to keep it survive longer.
