hi bros my ank is 3ft with sump tank. I m now in cycling process of my new tank now it is jus 2 weeks. I notice that my chiller is set to 26 but my main ank temp shows 28. For the RESUN 50 i m using RIO 6hf model pump. Why is my water temp not to he setting of the chiller....

bro..since the digital display on the chiller shows tt correct temp..den i believe ur main tank reading is not accurate..

your chiller is not cooling your main tank.

hi bro bar,, OK my chiller return will go back to my sump. My chiller is set to 25. i ve put a digital temp. morning or night the reading will be around 27.6 to 28.9.

Honestly i really don know how to see the chiller kicking in really i down know.

It already 2 weeks after set up. I ve decided to wait another month before i put in other fishes in now tank with LR only.

Bro or is it my pump flow do not match the RECUN??? I m using RIO 6hf .

Erm, whent he chiller kicks in or out, there will be a very distinguishable click sound and you'll find warm air at the back of the chiller exhaust. Even the kick in/out of my CL450 is pretty obvious. Sounds abit like a mini compressor running. Abit like the sound of aircon compressors.

I'm not sure of the flow rate of RIO 6hf, u must oso

consider the headlose ie if the flowrate is 1200l, after

headlose it could drop to 800l. for resun 650, flowrate

1800l, after consider the headlose.

I have experience with resun before. chiller to sump,

it cool my sump but not my tank. chiller set to 26, tank 28.

I believe that heat generate by pump in my sump will

heat up the coolwater and by the time it reach the return

pump, possible the temp had already go up thus not able

to chill the tank. another thing is my pump flow is low.

So I change pump. and the out flow from the chiller at

return pump. and it works. it chill my tank and doesn't

kick more often.

u want to noe whether it kicks or not. check the light.

if the light is on it kicking......i think its red light....
