i would like to ask, if my ammonia is less than 0.2, is it safe for me to bring in the corals...?

I prefer not to introduce any LS as it shows that your tank is still not capable enough to break down NH4 into NO2!!!

It depends whether you wanna take risk or not... if you are to wait for a few days more, the Ammonia will drop to an undetectable level (0.2 is still detectable, and they are highly toxic). Regardless, you still have other parameters to fix... remember... Sg being a very very crucial one. Haha... I'm nagging :lol::lol::lol:

After seeing wht happen 2 yr tank, dun dare to try one as I dun hv a powerful skimmer like yours!!! :P

Not for long... :eyebrow: And for record purpose... the Turboflotor Percula is NOT a powerful skimmer... most evident when I introduced the baby Deltec... BABY only leh!!! No fight :lol::lol::lol:

hmmm some advices from my own experience .... i used to have simliar rockscape as you do .. but as the months go by .. i realise tat those rocks touching the sides of the glass of the tank are abit hard to clean for aglae with the magnetic cleaners .... maybe u would like to shift the rocks ... leaving a bit of allownace for maintainabce :D

sure.. thanks for the advise... anyway, just bought the salifret ammonia test kit... and the test result is milky white so i suppose the ammonia result is <0.25.

<0.25 is still quite high for some LS (especially corals)... maybe wait 3 more days lah... :P

today took a reading again:

Ph = 8.3

KH = 5dKH (its pretty low.. what should i do)

Mag = 1380

sg = 1.022

Cal = 460mg/l

nitrite = 0.1mg / litres

nitrate = <1mg/litres

Ammonia = <0.25

attached along is the result of my ammonia test using the salifret.... i suppose readin is <0.25, what do u think...

Well... most parameters are looking good... except KH. Shouldn't be hard to increase, but increase slowly... not exceeding 2dKH per day.

As for the Salifert Ammonia test kit... I can't remember if it is to be read from top or side, is there any indication on the instructions sheet?

Bro, u gonna be patient and get the parameter right cos there's a risk of killing yr LS and wasting $ too! ;)

You definitely need some form of KH buffer, be it liquid or powder form. The KH will not rise on its own (if I'm not wrong)... it will only continue to drop.
