Hey guys and gals! Are hammers and frogspawn photosynthetic? If not, what do feed on? Cheers!

I am not sure about frogspawn but hammer is photosynthesis.

However, I also feed plankton twice a week.

I too dose phyto every 2 days. All my hammers are opening well under my 150 MH except on branch. What could be the problem?

I feed my hammer brine shrimp! but curiosly my branched hammer doesn't eat, my nonbranched one eats readily.

I found that giving it more current will help it open better.

give it enough current to let it gently sway. Although u can feed some corals brineshrimp its not really recommended. just sufficient light would be good. some phyto wouldnt hurt

They are both photosyntheticdue to the presence of zooanthelle thus they require strong lighting such as MH or t5s to thrive.

Overdosing of Phyto is a very real problem. Dont discount the other "pollutants" that may come in the phyto as well. Namely phospate... which really.. gave me a bad headache.. some time back

Over dosing of DT phyto is possible. DT phyto are live, so they do thrive in our aquarium. If there are too much, it might pollute your tank.
