mininum lighting for SPS...

Recommended Posts

maybe .... but think that a bigger worry is that too many r going into it which might cause more problems :

1) Prices going UP ! <_<

2) Some guys might not be fully ready for SPS ( lights, water conditions ....etc )

3) RTN due to the above hence more damage to the Reef !!!:cry:

4) SPS might be another Nemo craze that comes n goes by like a storm !!! Sad ending again !!! :pirate:

5) ALso , the supply of SPS is always there .... u will be able to get SPS ... just a matter of time .... :pinch:

Last but not least .. all those that r ready , ie tank wise n mentally n of course pocket wise too ... join the SPS bandwagon Like Morgan , Phang n AT ..... namely !!!

Just disturbing him

Hi,

Like to check from experts here. What are the lights that are required for a 39" * 24" * 30" tank to keep all types of corals

including SPS?

Thanks.

Regard,

Kenji80

2 pieces of 250W MH would be the ideal choice since your tank is 2ft deep.

The different betwen SE and DE is the way the bulb is mounted.

SE is like your normal screw on incandescent blub wherelse DE look like a flourescent where the contact is at both ends.

DE lack the UV protective glass jacket so it is very important to have a UV sheilding glass or else it will give your corals a really bad sunburn :P
