Hi guys :eyebrow: ,

Day 3 of my newly introduced cleaner shrimp.

Found it in bits and pieces being devoured by my electric orange hermit crab.

Also discovered that the shrimp shell was nearby and it seems to have molted before it became shrimp meal for my crab.

Q1 Does hermit crab eats shrimps? :o

Q2 Is it because of the molting which somehow kill my shrimp? <_<

Q3 Does the state of being just molted, makes my shrimp as irresistable target? :(

any gurus out there willing to impart your knowledge?

thanks in advance !!!

I've seen a hermit crab catch on to the tail of a small common clown and not let go, regardless of whatever I did to the crab. imho, crabs, hermits included, are scavengers and will eat whatever they can get their claws on.

I've got shrimps and hermits. Both are living together very well. My cleaner shrimps have been molting like nobody business and growing fast as well as my hermits. I've put bigger empty shells and the hermits have changed to new homes.

It is advisable to dose iodine regularly if you have inverterbrates to aid their molting.
