marlim
Anyone know how to stop water return back to sump tank when pump not working? Any idea for DIY bro...
SRC Member Sapp Posted June 27, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted June 27, 2007 Eh... Bro... if return pump not working, there should be no more water flowing down to your sump. Unless you dun have a overflow system and you are running 2 pumps. 1 pump water from main tank to sump and the other pump from sump back to main tank. If that is your case, you can try using a float switch to control both pumps.
Terryz_
There will be a back flow through your return from your main tank when the return pump dies... Just drill a hole just below your water level, when the pump dies, the water level will drop to the hole and start ###### air in and the backflow will stop.. yozzer
NO! The hole goes just below the surface of the MAIN tank water level. If you put the hole in the sump pipe then you will get back flow until the main tank water reaches the lowest level of your pipe and probably flood your sump area!
