SRC Member LinkinPark Posted November 9, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 9, 2003 Bought this piece of acro @ 5 weeks ago. It was purple turned to brown. It is sitting @ 10 inches directly under 250w 10kk, waiting for the colour to return. Just done my routine forthnightly 50% water change on Sat. This morning discovered the two highlighted areas (at the base and shielded from light) were white. Did not see tissue peeling and did not know when this happen. 1) Bleached or rtn? 2) should I frag? 3) or should I leave it alone? Water para: Ca 400-420ppm Alk 9-10dkh Temp 25-27 using rowaphos, carbon and EV-120 skimmer

Morgan
Keep an eye on the patches.....and see whether the patches grow bigger. It does not look like RTN to me......cos if rtn you lose it very fast. If it spread....like what mv3i say....time to frag.
Achilles Tang
Peeling? Flapping? It could be STN, slow tissue necrosis - a form of tissue recession?
Dispar_Anthias
Peeling? Flapping? It could be STN, slow tissue necrosis - a form of tissue recession? That sound equally bad
SRC Supporter Joe_P Posted November 11, 2003 SRC Supporter Share Posted November 11, 2003 Applying a layer of epoxy onto the affected area up to healthy flesh works for me.... the other alternative is to frag it.....
IanJ
I have also used super glue to stop tissue recession from the base
