SRC Member lyz77 Posted September 23, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted September 23, 2007 Currently, I'm running on resun C0500 1/2HP chiller. I suspect that there's some leakage on the chiller when i inspect the base of the chiller. I'm wondering whether should I get a new compressor chiller or should I repair it since it's only 1 1/2 year old. But I'm worried that the 1HP compressor is an overkill for my tank and may increase my electrical bill! My resun C0500 is running 12 hours a day. Anyone, pls advise!!! SRC Member reeftask Posted September 23, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted September 23, 2007 This repair is only minor. Only problem is why it leak so soon? What type of pump and how did it connected?

Maybe the force is too strong causing the chiller joints to leak over time.... U may need to factor this in after this incident.... U may need to factor this in after this incident.... I suspect that too. However, i tried using a 3000l/h pump b4 but it's not able to achieve a good chilling effect as compare using a 6500 pump! SRC Member kareen Posted September 24, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted September 24, 2007 Sometimes, one need to balance things thru' some observation..... if really cannot then ur next move is to use seperate pump..... For me, I am using eheim 1262 connected to a daeli chiller input and then return to display. So far, things are still fine... turnover rate may be a bit low due to the distance but I think the tank can live with it so no intention to change it..... How much "life supporting equipments" have been connected to the tank? Please do take a long hard look and eval the situation... my 2 cents... SRC Member nakazoru Posted September 24, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted September 24, 2007 A 1HP chiller will save your bill. Any equipment that is overload will not save you money. SRC Member reeftask Posted September 24, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted September 24, 2007 I agree that you should upgrade to 1 hp chiller. It will save electricity and last longer I suspect the leak is the pressure force that amkes it give way after some time.
