bwilly
too vague.. dunno wat u meant. anemone will expel stale water in its "body". they do this many times in a day. expand by taking in water, n expel the water by shrinking. its normal. if 24hours still like dat then problem, check base for tear n see sticky or not. not sticky n floatin ard, high chance bye bye.. FuEl
Best if you tell us what anemone you bought. Easier to guess what's wrong with it. SRC Member sjsheng Posted December 8, 2003 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 8, 2003 this is the pic i took just nw.. what happened?
bwilly
its normal. this kind of anemone tends to be veri small. their base is not as sticky as other anemones. I have one b4.. so freaking small, die also won't pollute your tank. no worries.. I got just one die off in my 3ft. not even a single fish was affected. only surface of water, abit "oily". took me 30mins to clean it up. FuEl
Don't you think your clownfishes are raping your poor anemone? Quote Always something more important than fish. http://reefbuilders.com/2012/03/08/sps-pico-reef/
bwilly
its not raping only.. its gang rape.. "let me.. let me..!" "oii.. my turn..." "wei.. got take Q no. bo?"

SRC Member metals99 Posted December 8, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 8, 2003 sigh.. anemones so difficult to keep and sometimes they are pest man.. and also they just dun survive well.. can't keep them for 8 months even..
bwilly
leave it. or take the clowns off its back n let it recover abit. this particular kind of anemone IMO is quite hardy. its small, n does not explode as much, less likelyhood of tearing. SRC Member sjsheng Posted December 8, 2003 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 8, 2003 i feed market prawn to let my anemone eat this afternoon... my clown fish took it away... beside taking my clown off ??? or get another small anemone.. this anemone with me for 5 moths.. bwilly
told u this anemone is one of the more hardy one. I play with anemone for sometime to know abit. cut your small shrimp into smaller pcs. stuff the shrimp into the mouth, not too hard or injure it. chase your clowns away, till the shrimp fully makan. FuEl
Erm...I think bwilly meant for you to wait for it to fully expand before attempting to feed it. Achilles Tang
Your photo is too large... keep it to 700 pixel width next time. Anyway, anemones will expand and close up from time to time.... perfectly normal behaviour... no need to panic. Only panic when it collapses into mush. SRC Member kschew1498 Posted December 9, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 9, 2003 just something to share.....my anemone pass away last night...its white in color with blue tip.....a beauty but..... I wonder does anemone fights with each other?? I got fustrated trying to keep both my anemone (the other one is Haitian) away from each other and let nature take its course but.... Even since I bought these anemone, they dont seem to open up or bloated up as beautiful as it is initially. Does anemone take Marine Snow as supplement instead of dried prawn? I only witness for one time it consume the whole dried prawn and from then onwards, it refuse to eat any.....worried....It been probably 2 month for my Haitian..my white anemone probably only 6 weeks.....sign!! Any advise Bwilly? or anybody?

SRC Member victorp Posted December 9, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 9, 2003 sjsheng's anemone is the type that likes to plant its base in the sand. This kind also tends to move/float around if it can't find a place that it likes. Luckily, I managed to coax mine to a rock cavity with sandy base - but whether it likes that place, only time will tell. One more thing...anemone needs lots of light. bwilly
if the light source is not good. (eg. not using MH or T5). frequent feeding is necessary. try feeding once a week at least.
