Help with tang

Recommended Posts

hi bros and sis, i recently juz bought a powder brown tang, though it is not yet feeding on flakes, it is feeding on red bamboo algae. Then 2nite i juz discovered that it has some white spots / ich at its fins, bt it is still feeding on the red bamboo algae. shd i juz leave it as it is or shd i try to catch it n put back into my betta box? ne advise? is the red bamboo algae diet sufficient for it? juz tried feeding nori soaked with flakes bt it seems non of my tangs are interested in it though

powder tangs easily get ich. i will advise to leave it alone. catching n trapping it will stress the fish even more. can try feeding some pellets....my tangs eat everything i give. seaweed, pellets, mysis n flakes....

Agreed with vtec, leave it alone. Catching the fish will stress up all your fishes, imagine ich for all your fishes....

My AT has been with me for months, till now, it only feeds on nori. Refuse to eat pellets and henry's mix no matter how long i tried to starve it.

Key thing: So long as it is eating well (nori or bamboo), chances of it recovering will be high

thks bros for the advices. the ich is no longer there...though still nt feeding on prepared food/ flakes / pallets, bt guess the red bamboo is sufficient for it...hopefully it will be ok :)

i guess maybe its time for me to source for the notorious powder blue in a few wks time haha

my advise is for ur tank, keep only either 1. if u add a powder blue, chances r the powder brown will whack it, powder blue stress n get ich, spread to powder brown....cycle start again...lol

True, Powder Tangs cannot take the beauty of another same species...hahaha

My advice is to stop feeding Bamboo for a while, use garlid guard on some small pallets...

Attach it to eat the pallets. :)

hmm bt my bamboo is already inside the tank leh...juz hope tat it is strong enugh to pull tru...
