finally can see the purple colour ( a little pastel still) on my purple hornet.

before that was more like grey hornet

cannot wait for all my corals to get acclimatised to the new G2.

was feeding my suns today when I notice ... erh.. something is moving.....

it was a crab! probably snatching food from my suns.

quickly took a cup, isolated the sun and took the hairy 8 legged beast out.

he's still in the cup now.

I think he is harmless; but hairy is a bit disgusting.

I had encountered big hairy crab in my previous tank before.

one word ... scary!

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

update:

My ORP reading has been extremely low. It has dropped from 400 to 280. It is now unable to climb beyond 300.

I have already dosed Biodigest twice in the last 2 - 3 weeks.

I suspect that this is due to the removal of live rocks and reduction of sand thickness.

I have added 1kg of biohommes plus in my cannister hoping that they can house the bacteria colonies but seems that this is not working.

Any advise/ thoughts?

check your pH?

ok that explains... I have none of those 3.

Rics tend to do better than yumas, given that they are in the same water condition?

Sorry OT by so much

Anyway decided to post this here as that was bro. prec's MWTS thread. Not nice for myself to dilute it with chit-chats (:

Hmm,

Rics do well than yumas or yumas doing better than rics, given that they are in the same water conditions, I personally heard it many times. Hard for myself to explain a why to every situation cause they are indifferent. Only thing I can say for definite are the 3 factors I highlighted earlier. In fact, my yumas did better than my rics in my nano. Rics just melt and go but yumas bloated and stayed on until my nano crashed :)

Hope this helps.

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.

PH okay. 7.9 - 8.2

mine is opposite. Rics bloom but yumas shrink... :(

Hmm,

then do a water change bro. See if that helps to tune the oxidising potential of your tank up (:

Ohh,

haha, that's good luh. I love both and will wish to keep both but under metal halides lightings, it's hard especially for yumas to pinpoint a good location to grow them. Rics on the contrary, is put there and let it go pui pui. Strong lighting helps for rics, but for yumas, should be on the contrary (:
