How to connect modem wirelessly to computer?

Anyone know how to do that? cuz I subscribed to maxonline but my computer is not near the cable port and modem, and dowan to have wire connected from the modem all across my living room to my comp! anyway of connected wireless? and how much would it cost?

U can get a wireless access point with a USB client adpator for yr PC. Think the cost should be around 300+

its abt $200.. plus get a wireless card to plug in your pc.

veri simple setup. they used to give free with 3000 maxonline offer.

n yes, its quite unsecure this way, I got fren who can tap into the source of his neighbour. (basically use foc wireless)

they still do. just need to get the modem from Starhub if you're using Maxonline 3000, and get yourself armed with a wireless network adapter.

but I'm using back the LAN wire as it was pre-built into the house already. (=

then get a wireless adapter lor. quite cheap if you ask me. I got one for my mum's laptop and my own PC. 3COM one. cost me $139 from Videopro.

Quite easy la. I am using the max1500 on my PC in my study. But also using a notebook just about every where else. Using a linksys 54G wireless router connected to the modem. The pc connect using the network card and cable and my notebook use a pcmcia wireless card. Can even watch a DVD on my notebook when the DVD is on the desktop..

But if only use for connection to modem and not for sharing file, jus get the 11B router, can save like $100. under 200 with the wireless USB network card. The cheapes brand is the spore made Iconnect.

I signed up for the 2 yr maxonline deal, no wireless leh... fwah lau 200 bucks just to send the bytes flying 5,6m across the room?!! sigh... all these hidden costs.... thanx guys, will go SLS and check it out!
