Mixing of fairy wrasses

Recommended Posts

Hi bro, though fairy wrasse is considered non aggressive but chasing might be expected and if the new wrasse cannot take it, it will die. Get a bigger size one, acclimatize them, train them to eat like pig, place them in Betta box to allow seeing and once aggression lessen, possible to release. Master wrasse, bro rogertt did mention to use mirror trick. I once got one wrasse trying to whack my new wrasse, once open the betta box, the wrasse went in and trapped it and release the new wrasse, few days later, release it and everything was fine but still encounter occasion chasing. Do cover yr tank as they are jumper . Cheers.

wah. no lah. i'm a relatively new comer in the wrasse scene, plenty of other experts here too ;) thomas_lim is one of them haha.

no problem in mixing fairy wrasses. lubbock and solar are quite okay, not very aggressive IME. agree with some of the bros here on mirror and betta box. betta box is a very important tool. release them after a few days at night/evening. let them get used to the surroundings and when they wake up in the morning, there will be less fighting. rather then release them in the day and the other wrasse see liao, go wack.

do take note that some fairys are more aggressive than others....but lubbock is rather peaceful and mild.

Thank you guys for your advice. Wrasses are certainly beautiful fish and reef safe. The Lubbock feeds easily and that is why I am encouraged to try other wrasses. Had been keeping finicky feeders like madarins, seahorses, butterflies and a majestic angelfish for past several months and frankly quite tired of the intensive care and the pollution to the water feeding caused.

Hope to meet you guys in LFS one of these days, provided I recognise some of you :)
