Sorry, hope you guys don't mind a dumb question...

Is the algae paste thingy, food for the corals or is it meant for culturing plankton ?

Me, still very confused over phytoplankton, zooplankton, rotifiers etc.....

Thanks

microalgae = commonly known as "greenwater". Essentially free floating alga cells. So far, I am the only strong advocate of feeding dead micro algae, there are several others who prefer feeding live ones. Also used in the culture of rotifers.

zooplanton = very small celled creatures that either feed on microalgae or lower cell life, mostly microalgae. From smallest to biggest category (which can be disputed from many aspects) from bacteria zooplankton, micro zooplankton to zooplankton.

corals food = depend really on type of algae. Eg, most (there are exceptions) sea fan take mostly microalgae, some bacteria plankton and hardly big zooplanktons such as rotifers, soft corals range from phtyo to zoo again depending on vareity.

fry food = almost always from big zooplankton onwards. meaning ard the size from 1/3 the size of rotifers onwards.
